Los Angeles, CA, Summer Break, 2020

by Davon Marcum

It was warm outside and I was finally out on summer break. My family and I were about to take a nice afternoon drive up PCH to go walk on the beach at Leo Carrillo. But before we did that we had to drive all the way to Hollywood to drop something off at my dad’s work.

On the drive to Hollywood, I was looking out the window and listening to music thinking about how beautiful LA really is. Just looking at all the buildings and cars was enough for me to tell my dad our city was the best. Seeing the sun’s reflection on all the building’s windows was cool and watching traffic go by was also cool to me.

Once we got to my dad’s office my dad dropped off what he needed to drop off then we headed towards Malibu. On the drive to Leo Carrillo, we took a shortcut through the mountains and it was awesome. I always love driving through the mountains because you get to see the city from up high and it’s a beautiful sight, especially at night.

A half hour later when we finally got there we took our nice walk on the beach. My sister and I went over to look at the tied pools like we normally did everytime we went there and as per usual there were a lot of beautiful rocks and cool looking crabs climbing over rocks and just resting in the pools.

Two hours later when it was dark out my family and I decided to go home. On our drive home we passed by all the nice houses and cars and we were also talking about which houses we each liked the most.

On the halfway point of our drive home we passed by the Santa Monica Pier and it was a really cool sight seeing all the lights from the rides and especially the ferris wheel. I see the ferris wheel at night a lot, but each time I see it it hits different to me.

Finally when we got home we all decided to take showers to get all the salt water and sand off our bodies. After we showered we took our vitamins and went to bed. The end.
